Pope Benedict XIV
On the 15th of October 2008 we delivered a special petition to the Vatican office of Pope Benedict XIV, asking him to reinstall the ancient sacramental diaconate ordination for women.
We decided to keep the text short and simple. After all we knew that, if he so wanted, he had full excess to the all the evidence needed to prove the legitimacy of the case. We did not receive a response. The petition is available in six languages. Click on the symbols below.
POPE FRANCIS
On the 3rd of September 2015 we submitted to Pope Francis a Documented Appeal to Re-instate the Ordained Diaconate for Women.
In our appeal we both list all the arguments in detail and provide links to where the evidence is spelled out on our websites. We show that during the first millennium women were ordained through a rite that was in all essentials identical to that used for male deacons. We list dozens of ancient manuscripts in both East and West that preserved that full rite. We present original texts confirming the tradition: texts from the New Testament, ancient councils, local synods, statements by Church Fathers.
